Bursztyn Unity, the second of the modern ferries built for Polish shipowners, is approaching the start of regular commercial service on the Baltic Sea. According to POLSCA Baltic Ferries’ current timetable, the vessel’s first scheduled departure from Świnoujście to Ystad will take place on November 9, 2026. Prior to that, the ferry is set to undergo sea trials and be officially christened in Szczecin.
Bursztyn Unity is set to soon join Jantar Unity as another modern ferry operating routes between Poland and Sweden. For the Port of Świnoujście and transport operators using ferry crossings, this marks a significant increase in transport capacity and another evolution in the organization of the POLSCA Baltic Ferries fleet.
Sea trials and christening ceremony in Szczecin
Before Bursztyn Unity enters regular service, the vessel is scheduled to undergo its final stage of preparation. Sea trials are expected to begin in the near future. Following their successful completion, the ferry is set to make a trial voyage to Sweden before sailing to Szczecin.
The christening ceremony for Bursztyn Unity is scheduled for the first half of November 2026, just prior to its planned entry into regular service. The vessel is expected to dock at Wały Chrobrego in Szczecin and remain open to the media and the public for several days.

Bursztyn Unity is a sister ferry to Jantar Unity, which has already entered regular service. In June 2026, Jantar Unity joined the Świnoujście–Ystad route and has since been offering passenger and cargo transport for road freight.
